Botel Racek was built in the late 1960s in the Mělník shipyard as the first of three floating hotels in Prague.
Since 1969, it has been anchored on the right bank of the Vltava near Vyšehradská skály.
The steel structure of the ship consists of three decks. The ship is attached to the shore by 8 ropes and can be entered via one of the three bridges.
