Hagia Sophia

Hagia Sophia, also known as Ayasofya in Turkish, is a historic building located in Istanbul, Turkey. It was originally built as a Christian cathedral in the 6th century during the Byzantine Empire and was converted into a mosque during the Ottoman Empire in the 15th century. The structure is considered an architectural masterpiece and has been designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It is known for its massive dome, intricate mosaics, and rich history. In 1935, the building was turned into a museum by the Turkish government, but in 2020, it was converted back into a mosque.
