Overview

The Kalyan Minaret is a famous historical landmark located in Bukhara, Uzbekistan. It was built in the 12th century during the reign of the Seljuk Empire and stands at a height of approximately 47 meters (154 feet). The minaret is made of brick and is known for its intricate geometric patterns and calligraphy, which adorn the exterior of the structure. The Kalyan Minaret was originally used to call Muslims to prayer and served as a watchtower for the city. Today, it is a popular tourist attraction and a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
