Free State National Botanical Garden The botanical garden covers an area of approximately 70 hectares and was established in 1969 to conserve and showcase the unique flora of the region. The garden is situated on the slopes of Naval Hill and overlooks the city of Bloemfontein. The Free State National Botanical Garden features several walking trails that provide visitors with the opportunity to explore the natural beauty of the area, including several scenic viewpoints. The garden is home to over 400 plant species, including many that are endemic to the region.
