Kenrokuen

Kenrokuen is a Japanese garden located in Kanazawa, Ishikawa Prefecture, Japan. It is considered one of the three most beautiful gardens in Japan, alongside Kairakuen in Mito and Korakuen in Okayama. Kenrokuen means "garden of the six sublimities" and refers to the six elements of a perfect landscape: spaciousness, seclusion, artifice, antiquity, waterways, and panoramas. The garden covers an area of about 11 hectares and features a variety of landscapes, including ponds, streams, waterfalls, bridges, hills, and tea houses. It is also home to more than 8,000 trees and plants, including cherry blossoms, plum trees, and pine trees. One of the most iconic features of Kenrokuen is the Kotojitoro Lantern, a traditional Japanese lantern made of stone that is located in the center of a pond. Another highlight of the garden is the Kasumigaike Pond, which is said to resemble a giant mirror due to its calm and clear waters.
