Overview

The character of the Garden is shaped by the two main rivers that cut across it, namely the Crocodile and Nels Rivers. Before these two rivers converge in the Garden, they form spectacular waterfalls which can be viewed at the Cascades and the Nels viewpoints. The Lowveld National Botanical Garden features several walking trails that provide visitors with the opportunity to explore the natural beauty of the area, including several scenic viewpoints. The garden is home to over 600 plant species, including many that are endemic to the region. In addition to its natural attractions, the Lowveld National Botanical Garden also has several facilities for visitors, including a tea garden, a restaurant, a nursery, and a gift shop. The garden also hosts several events throughout the year, including plant sales, concerts, and educational programs.
